Over the past two years, I have been a key member of the team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Macquarie Bank's .com.au website. My role focused on improving the site's usability and aligning it with the marketing department's needs and business priorities. Although the changes may have appeared minor, they demanded considerable effort from both the production and development teams. These enhancements have significantly boosted customer interactions and overall website performance.
My goals and achievements:
Design visually engaging and user-centred interfaces for the bank’s website and campaign landing pages, ensuring that each element effectively conveys the bank’s brand and core values. Apply best practices in UI design to create intuitive, easy-to-navigate experiences that minimize user friction and enhance engagement. Utilize user research, usability testing, and data-driven insights to guide design decisions and uncover areas for improvement.

My involvement in the design community includes:
  • Participating in design critique sessions;
  • Presenting and defending design solutions to stakeholders and design management;
  • Contributing to the development of a unified Macquarie OneUI design system;
  • Receiving guidance from experienced mentors to enhance my skills;
  • Helping with organizing engaging events for colleagues;
  • Designing the logo for the Research and Design department;
  • Mentoring graduate students.

Redesign and rebrand the bank’s website to align with the organization’s refreshed brand identity and messaging, while maintaining a focus on user-friendliness and seamless navigation.

Collaborate with producers, developers, the creative team, and business stakeholders to grasp user needs, objectives, and pain points, and craft designs that address these factors. Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices, including accessibility, responsive design, and search engine optimization (SEO).

Conduct user research, including surveys and interviews, and participate in ideation sessions to gain deeper insights into customer and business needs, integrating these findings into the design process.

Continuously enhance the website’s component kit to ensure a consistent and cohesive look across all pages and touchpoints. Stay updated on emerging trends and provide thought leadership and guidance to producers and developers.
